Odisha GHPC Gymnasts Shine at 37th National Games

Kolkata: Gymnasts from Odisha’s AM/NS India Gymnastics High Performance Centre (GHPC) in Bhubaneswar excelled at the 37th National Games in Goa. Out of 15 GHPC gymnasts, 11 secured a total of 20 medals. Pranati Nayak stood out by winning gold in All-Around, Vaults, Uneven Bars, and Balance Beam, while also earning a silver medal in Floors, representing Odisha in Women Artistic Gymnastics.

In Men’s Artistic Gymnastics, Tapan Mohanty and Md. Anas of Odisha secured silver medals in various categories. Odisha earned a total of eight medals, placing second in the artistic gymnastics medal tally at the National Games. Pranati Nayak received recognition from Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik for her outstanding performance.

Yogeshwar Singh from GHPC, representing Haryana, claimed three gold medals in MAG and a bronze in Parallel Bars. His team also won a bronze in the MAG Team Championship.

Services Sports Control Board excelled in Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) with Saif Tamboli winning gold in Parallel Bars and Rakesh Patra claiming silver in Horizontal Bars. The MAG Team, featuring Rakesh Patra, Abhijeet Kumar, Gaurav Kumar, Saif Tamboli, and Tapeswaranath Das, secured gold with a score of 249.35.

Representing Uttar Pradesh in the Women Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) Team Championships, gymnasts Karishma and Tannu clinched bronze medal with a team score of 142.30.

The medal tally and achievements of the 15 GHPC athletes in Odisha showcase the strong support and efforts by AM/NS India and the Odisha government in promoting sports at the state and national level.
