New Delhi: In a significant development, 23-year-old Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has ascended to the pinnacle of the ICC T20 International bowling rankings, claiming the top position. This achievement follows his outstanding performance in the recently concluded series against Australia, where he secured the ‘Player of the Series’ award. Bishnoi played a pivotal role as India’s key bowler in the five-game series, amassing an impressive nine wickets.

With an impressive rating of 699 points, Bishnoi has surged five places, surpassing Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan (692) to become the new number one in the coveted rankings. Sharing the third spot on the chart are Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga and England’s Adil Rashid, both boasting 679 points, while Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana (677) completes the top five.

It’s noteworthy that Bishnoi is the sole Indian bowler in the top 10 of the ICC T20I bowling rankings, showcasing his exceptional talent. Additionally, Axar Patel has witnessed a commendable rise, climbing nine spots to secure the 18th position.

Meanwhile, in the batting department, Suryakumar Yadav, the dynamic batter who led India to a resounding 4-1 T20I series victory against Australia, retains his position at the summit among the batters. However, opener Ruturaj Gaikwad has slipped to the seventh spot.

In the all-rounders’ category, Hardik Pandya continues to dominate, maintaining the third position. Despite missing the series against Australia due to injury, Pandya’s consistent prowess in the format underscores his significance as a top all-rounder.
