New Delhi: The Redmi K80 series is anticipated to debut later this year, with leaked details hinting at metal frames and glass backs for the models. Expected to succeed the Redmi K70 series, which debuted in China in November 2023, the upcoming lineup is rumored to bring significant upgrades.

Leaked information suggests that the Redmi K80 models will feature 5,500mAh batteries, an improvement over the Redmi K70 series’ 5,000mAh batteries. The vanilla Redmi K80 is likely to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, while the Redmi K80 Pro may feature the yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. The Redmi K70 series featured Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoCs, respectively.

Furthermore, the Redmi K80 series is expected to boast 2K resolution displays, surpassing the 2K OLED screens of the Redmi K70 lineup. The models are also rumored to sport metal frames and glass backs, though their design remains undisclosed.

Notably, while the Redmi K70 lineup included a Redmi K70E model, it’s speculated that the absence of an “E” model in the Redmi K80 series could see it launch under the Redmi Note 14 lineup, based on earlier leaks. However, official confirmation from the company is awaited regarding the lineup and its features.
