Hyundai Creta Order Backlog Reduced to 33,000 Units in June 2024
New Delhi: Ever since the launch of the facelifted Hyundai Creta in January, the midsize SUV’s popularity has surged, leading to a substantial order backlog. As of June 2024, this backlog has been reduced to 33,000 units.
Current Status of Hyundai Creta Orders
- The order backlog for the Hyundai Creta has decreased by 2,000 units compared to April 2024, which stood at 35,000 units.
- The Creta accounts for more than half of Hyundai India’s total pending orders, which now total 65,000 units, down from 70,000 units in April.
- The waiting period for the Creta, including the sporty Creta N Line, is around 10 weeks.
Sales Performance and Market Position
- Hyundai sold 14,662 units of the Creta in May 2024.
- The company reports an average monthly sales figure of 15,000 units for the Creta.
- The percentage of first-time buyers for the Creta has increased from 14% in 2021 to 28% in 2024.
- The Creta competes in a highly competitive segment against models like the Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and Honda Elevate.
Pricing and Engine Options
- The Hyundai Creta is priced between Rs 13.48 lakh and Rs 24.47 lakh (ex-showroom).
- It is available with three engine options:
- 115hp, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol
- 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol
- 116hp, 1.5-litre diesel

- Hyundai Creta EV: Production of the Creta EV is set to begin by the end of this year, with sales starting by January 2025. This electric variant will compete with the upcoming Maruti eVX, Tata Curvv EV, and MG ZS EV.
- Hyundai Alcazar: The three-row sibling of the Creta, the Alcazar, will receive a mid-life update later this year. The facelift will feature new front and rear designs, a revised cabin, additional features, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
