“Saalar” created a stir at the box office: Prabhas’s action film had a great opening before Dunky.

New Delhi: A cinematic spectacle that has got fans excited, Prabhas’ much-awaited film “Salaar” has taken a stellar start and is all set to take the competition by storm. Latest reports reveal extraordinary advance bookings of ₹48.94 crore, indicating a possible opening collection of more than ₹49-50 crore. The film’s multi-language release in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada adds to its pan-India appeal.

Anticipation amid screen share controversy:

Despite murmurs of unequal screen share with Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki”, “Salaar” is all set to make a splash at the box office. As per the first day advance bookings reported by Sacnilk.com, “Salaar” has taken a winning start, possibly surpassing the ₹30 crore opening of “Dunki”, which hit the screens a day earlier.

Record breaking statistics:

More than 22 lakh tickets across 16,593 shows have been sold for the opening day of “Saalaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire”. The excitement is evident, with the Telugu show alone holding 17 lakh tickets worth ₹38.25 crore. Hindi and Tamil shows contributed 2 lakh tickets worth ₹5.62 crore and ₹1.9 crore respectively.

Screen controversy revealed:

Amidst the excitement, a controversy emerged when some industry insiders expressed concern over “Salaar” getting unfair screen share compared to “Dunki”. Hombale Films, producers of “Saalaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire”, have decided not to screen the film in select theatres, accusing multiplex chains of favoring “Dunki” in their productions.
